The Women in Asset Management program accepts applications from students across all academic disciplines and universities in Canada. Our past students have come from diverse academic backgrounds including Health Sciences, Engineering, Film Studies, MIT, Business, and International Relations. Prior to beginning your application, ensure you meet the eligibility requirements.
The WAM program is tuition-free and subsidized by our corporate sponsors who support our mission. We also provide course materials, accommodations and majority of meals during the month of May.
Our participants are responsible for the following costs:
- Transportation to London for the May Programming and or Pre-Programming Weekend
- Transportation to their internship
- Living expenses while on internship
Applications will open on September 15th 2025, and will close on January 9th, 2026. There are two application submission periods while the application is open:
Submission Period 1: September 15th 2025- October 31st 2025
If all components of your application are received by the Submission Period 1 deadline of October 31, 2025, you will receive a response by mid-November.*
Submission Period 2: November 1st 2025- January 9th 2025
If all components of your application are received by January 9, 2026, you can expect to hear back by late-January.
In order for your application to be considered complete, your reference letters must be received by the program office by the deadline.
*If you begin you application during the first submission period and it is not considered complete, your application will automatically roll into the second submission period.
The application is comprised of 2 Stages:

- Extra Curricular Activities***
- Awards (Academic and Non-Academic)
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you will be sent a link via email for Stage 2 of the application.
Stage 2: Expansion
- 2 Short Essays (Prompts Provided)
- Kira Assessment
- Short video where you are able to introduce yourself, explain your interest in asset management and your reasons for applying to the program. Ensure that your presentation is professional.
- References
- Two reference letters (1 personal and 1 academic). During the application, you will provide the contact information for your two references. Your references will receive the fillable form to the email indicated. It is the responsibility of the applicant to follow up with their references to ensure they are received by the application deadline.
- Personal References include: A coach, mentor, workplace supervisor
- Academic References Include: A university professor or teaching assistant.
All of the above must be completed to consider your application complete
*When submitting your CV, please ensure it includes all work experience. Do not cater your resume. Ensure you distinguish between paid and unpaid work ie, internships (paid or unpaid) and volunteer work.
**Your unofficial transcript must include your name, the name of your institution, your first year grades and your current enrollment for second year. If your unofficial transcript does not contain this information, you will need to order an official transcript. Please do not upload screenshots. Only PDF files are acceptable. ***When completing this section, be sure to only include appropriate extra curriculars such as Volunteering, Community or School Engagement, Sports etc. Any work that is paid does not constitute as an Extra Curricular.
For an academic reference:
- A current or former university instructor, or TA.
- A Highschool instructor is acceptable if they have instructed you multiple times, with one instance occurring in your last year though an University level reference is preferred.
For a professional reference:
- Someone who can speak to your character outside of the classroom such as a former employer, supervisor, mentor, or coach.
If all components of your application are received by the Submission Period 1 deadline of October 31, 2025, you will receive a response by mid-November*.
If your application is complete by January 9, 2026, you can expect to hear back by late-January. In order for your application to be considered complete, all components of your application, including your reference letters must be received by the program office by the deadline.

The pre-program weekend is scheduled for March 21-22, 2026. This session will be held in person, at Ivey Business School with a virtual participation option available for students that are located outside of London. While all students are encouraged to attend in person, please note that travel and accommodation expenses will be the responsibility of each attendee.
The main program will be hosted at Ivey Business School from May 1 to May 30, 2065. Participants are expected to move into the residence on Thursday, April 30, 2026, which will be followed by a welcome session and dinner.
The internships are within in a variety of areas in asset management including banks, pension boards, hedge funds etc.
Paid internships will occur between June 1 and August 21, 2026*, in select cities throughout Canada, with the majority in Toronto. Internships are currently available in Victoria BC, Toronto ON, Calgary AB and Montreal QC with new locations being added each year.
*internships will be 10 - 12 weeks in length and determined by the individual sponsor
Prior to the start of the program, the WAM program team will assign the internships based on best fit for both participants and corporate sponsors. Both students and sponsors are required to fill out a survey to help determine best fit.
You are responsible for accommodations during the internships. Resources will be made available to help find suitable accommodations.
