Service learning was a core component of my curriculum at my Hong Kong-based American international school. My experiences working in neighbouring developing countries cultivated my social conscience. These values have become such a central part of my worldview that I have used them to guide all of my major education and career choices. For example, I am studying business to gain the skills to effectively contribute to non-profit and other social impact sectors. More recently, I have focused my exploration on learning more deeply about the intersection of business and social impact to learn more self-sustaining models.
