Patricia Hein is an Assistant Professor at the Ivey Business School. Her work focuses on the question of how inequality exists in organizations and how it can be overcome. She has done research on the marginalization of people with disabilities, the invisibility of low-paid night shift workers, the loneliness of dying patients in palliative care units, and the empowerment of women through female networks.

Within the Sustainable Finance Lab, Patricia studies the socio-political engagement of high-net-worth individuals through impact investing in Canada and globally. Her research focuses on the motivations and impacts of this engagement.

Prior to pursuing an academic career, Patricia worked in asset management for more than a decade. Most recently, she was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs, advising clients on equity, fixed income, and alternative investments.
