Julie joined the lab in September 2022 as a postdoctoral scholar. Her research project aims to understand and facilitate the replication and scaling of a highly innovative Canadian financial product that applies finance for nature-based carbon mitigation. Her research has been funded by various organizations including Carbon Solutions @ Western and the Canadian Academic Accounting Association (CAAA). She graduated with a Ph.D. from Université Laval in 2022. Her research interests include responsible investment and shareholder activism, specifically the integration of environmental, social and governance criteria, proxy voting and their role in the fight against climate change. Outside the Lab, Julie likes to spend time outdoors trail running, hiking, canoeing, cross-country and nordic skiing among other things. She is also involved in Accounting for Impact and she sits on the board of Fonds de recherche du Québec-Société et Culture.
