Jean-François joined the Lab in May 2022 as a Research Fellow and focuses on how to scale and finance regenerative agriculture. He completed a Master of Planning in Urban Development at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) in 2022. His award-winning Major Research Paper, The Time Is Ripe New financial tools for the City of Toronto's Parkland Dedication Rate, described how to overcome obstacles and use new financial tools for parkland acquisition. Jean-François held a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (Master’s) scholarship in 2020-2021.
He was a Lead Analyst at Sustainalytics and published articles on investing in the circular economy, deforestation in Brazil's Amazon, and insuring natural disaster risks. His work was featured in Corporate Knights and Morningstar Canada. He is the Executive Director of A Voice for Transit, which advocates for transit equity in Toronto. Jean-François is interested in working in urban planning and applying his ESG skills.
