Publications & Working Papers
Our team of researchers based at Ivey Business School, other schools at Western University and partner universities across the world has been collecting data on cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology diffusion, as well as on the strategies implemented by FinTech startups and incumbent firms to deal with the ongoing industry disruption. We are analyzing our data with cutting-edge methods to develop empirical research papers that shed light on the mechanisms at work in the FinTech space. At the crossroads between organization theory, economics, strategy, finance and entrepreneurship, our research agenda is rapidly advancing and gaining international visibility. Our first paper, forthcoming in Research in the Sociology of Organizations in 2017, was nominated for the Best Conference Paper Award 2016 at the annual meeting of the Strategic Management Society, the leading professional organization for strategy research.
Talks
Our team is committed to sharing knowledge and research findings with other scholars in the field, whether it is at academic conferences or research workshops hosted by Central Banks and regulators. We regularly present our research at international events to get feedback, exchange ideas, and advance our agenda. Over time, we are building a community of FinTech scholars doing research from the perspective of strategic management, finance, economics and organizational sociology.
