Ivey welcomed 50 new Master of Management in Analytics participants from 26 different universities – the broadest range yet – at an orientation event on September 3 to kick off their first residence week of the program.
The event at Ivey’s Spencer Leadership Centre included a reception and dinner where the Master of Management in Analytics (MMA) participants were welcomed by Darren Meister, Associate Dean of Programs, and the MMA program faculty and staff.
Citing how the MMA program will build on the participants’ professional analytical experience and provide fundamental business and management skills, Meister said the program will prepare them to lead the businesses of the future.
Greg Zaric, Faculty Director of the MMA, noted how the diversity of the cohort will enhance the learning opportunities. In addition to the broad range of universities, the participants come from seven different birth countries and 17 different industries.
“This is an outstanding and diverse cohort. I look forward to working with this outstanding group over the next year,” he said.
For the rest of this week, the students will begin classes and participate in team-building activities before returning home to continue the program online. The while-you-work program combines online learning with classroom sessions at Ivey’s downtown Toronto campus.
