Jury Gualandris, Director for the Centre for Building Sustainable Value (BSV) at the Ivey Business School, has been named a Canada Clean50 award winner in the Education and Thought Leader category. The Clean50 awards, announced annually by Delta Management Group, recognizes 50 leaders or small groups from across Canada who have done the most to advance the cause of sustainability over the past two years.
Gualandris was chosen after a rigorous screening and research process led by Delta Management, with advice from internal researchers and external advisors. He was among honourees selected from an initial pool of well over 1,000 well-qualified nominees. Gualandris was also selected as a member of the Clean16, a distinction given to those identified as top leaders in their nomination category.
“The 2024 Clean16 are truly the leaders of the leaders in sustainability in Canada,” said Gavin Pitchford, CEO, Delta Management Group. “The competition for the top spot this year in every instance left us with a record number of great choices - and to be selected from amongst such a strong group of peers is truly a testament to the contribution Jury has made to helping make Canada more sustainable for all Canadians.”
Additionally, Pitchford added, “leveraging research and education to catalyze a just transition towards an ecologically resilient future, Jury has multiple leadership roles at Ivey’s Centre for Building Sustainable Value and its sister organization, the Network for Business Sustainability, driving impactful research, leadership programming and global outreach.”

In his work as an educator and thought leader, Gualandris has spearheaded research that examines the value of creating a more circular economy, where materials are never wasted, as resources discarded by one company become the raw materials for another. As BSV Director Gualandris is driving the Centre’s mission to shape pathways of systems change towards an ecologically sound, fair future, with a current emphasis on Canada’s agri-food sector. BSV also focuses its work through a series of impact labs whose research is exploring pivotal arenas such as conservation finance, Net Zero commitments, circular economy and systems innovation.
