For the second year in a row, five Ivey professors were recognized as some of the world’s top scientists in the 2023 Best Business and Management Scientists ranking from Research.com.
Paul Beamish, HBA ’76, PhD ’84; Klaus Meyer; Rob Klassen, MBA ’89; Simon Parker; and Tima Bansal were among the top 40 in Canada and Beamish was also recognized with Research.com’s Business and Management in Canada Leader Award for 2023.
The annual list ranks the top one per cent of academic researchers based on publications, citations and h-index, which evaluates the cumulative impact of the authors' scholarly output over the course of their careers. It was based on an examination of more than 7,819 scientist profiles compiled from various bibliometric data sources.

Paul Beamish, HBA ’76, PhD ’84
#3 in Canada and #79 in the world
Paul Beamish is a professor of international business and general management, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, and a Fellow of the Academy of International Business. His research focuses on the areas of international management, strategic management, and joint ventures and alliances.
Klaus Meyer
#14 in Canada and #279 in the world
Klaus Meyer is a professor of International Business and the William G. Davis Chair in International Trade. His research investigates the strategies of multinational enterprises in and from emerging economies.
Rob Klassen, MBA ’89
#30 in Canada and #633 in the world
Rob Klassen is a professor of operations management and sustainability, a Western University Faculty Scholar, and the Magna International Inc. Chair in Business Administration. His research explores the linkages between operations and sustainability.
Simon Parker
#35 in Canada and #762 in the world
Simon Parker is a professor of entrepreneurship, a Western University Faculty Scholar, and the J. Allyn Taylor/Arthur H. Mingay Chair in Entrepreneurship. His research focuses on the challenges and strategies associated with internet-based startups, including their use of social media.
Tima Bansal
#40 in Canada and #841 in the world
Tima Bansal is a professor of general management, sustainability, and strategy; a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada; and a Fellow of the Academy of Management. She is also the founder and Lab Leader of Innovation North and holds a Canada Research Chair in Business Sustainability. Her research looks at the interplay between business strategy and sustainability.
