For Richie Bloomfield, HBA ’14, MBA, ’20, business success and community impact go hand in hand. A case in point – his non-profit urban farm, Urban Roots London, prioritizes sustainable farming practices and providing affordable organic produce while also donating a portion of its goods to local charities.
That’s why it’s no surprise that Bloomfield, Co-Founder of Urban Roots London and Sidetrack: A Wortley Café, is among the 20 young visionaries and innovators being honoured today at London Inc. magazine’s 2023 20 Under 40 gala event. The annual awards program organized by the Twenty Under 40 Foundation and London Inc. celebrates young professionals in London, Ontario who demonstrate community involvement and inspire others to do so as well.
In his London Inc. profile, Bloomfield, who is also an assistant professor of management and organizational studies at Huron University College, says he encourages his students to use their business education to create meaningful change in the world.
