To all our new and returning students, welcome to Ivey for the 2022-2023 academic year! It’s great to have all our programs back in person.
You are about to start, or continue, an amazing journey – one that Ivey alumni most often describe as powerful and transformational. It’s a journey you will take with bright and engaging classmates guided by outstanding faculty, and supported by dedicated staff and an active alumni network. And this journey will take place in an inclusive environment where diverse voices are encouraged, respected, and foundational to learning. Our case-based, real-world approach to learning will help you to understand the critical organizational and social issues that are shaping the future of business and give you the tools and expertise to bring meaningful change to individuals, organizations, and society. That’s the Ivey difference.
It’s an exciting time to be at Ivey. We recently launched our new strategic plan, Ivey Next, so you’ll have a chance to see and experience how we continue to evolve and differentiate Ivey as a world-class business school. We are expanding our programming in inclusive leadership, sustainability, the evolution of work, and global citizenship and you’ll have the opportunity to experience new content focused in these areas. Due to demand, our HBA program has expanded to welcome 150 additional students, which has many benefits for those in the program as it has allowed us to enhance our elective offerings. We hope many of our HBAs choose to pursue a dual degree – one of the unique opportunities of being at Ivey and Western.
Looking ahead, Ivey will mark its 100th anniversary in 2023 with exciting centennial activities to celebrate our past and look to our future. I encourage you to get involved in all that Ivey has to offer. Take part in student clubs, extracurricular activities, and international experiences outside of the classroom. And get to know the London community. Use your classroom learnings to give back to the local community and the world.
I can’t wait to meet you all, watch you grow and to see where your Ivey journey takes you. I hope it will be filled with important lessons, inspiring people, and special moments that will lead you to your purpose in life.
