More than 200 Ivey graduates will walk the stage at Western University’s in-person fall convocation ceremony on October 21, and that alone is cause for celebration given the hiatus from in-person events during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is Western’s first in-person fall convocation in two years.
Graduates from Ivey’s HBA, MSc, MMA, EMBA, and PhD programs will participate in the event at Western’s Alumni Hall where they’ll receive their diplomas and join the Ivey Alumni Network. Approximately 58 HBAs, 39 MScs, 34 MMAs, 91 EMBAs, and two PhDs are expected to attend. You can watch the livestream or view the recordings afterward.
The Ivey Pledge tradition
The graduates will also participate in separate pledge and awards ceremonies. The EMBA Class of 2022 will have an event on October 20 at the Lamplighter Inn & Conference Centre, which will include a pledge ceremony, awards, valedictorian address, and dinner. The other programs will take part in separate Ivey Pledge Ceremony sessions at the Richard Ivey Building on October 21 as well as individual awards ceremonies and receptions.
Recognizing honorary degree recipients Nancy Yeomans Love and Patrick Lam
Ivey will also be recognizing its honorary degree recipients at two separate convocation ceremonies this week. Nancy Yeomans Love, HBA ’76, CEO and Principal of NLo Strategies Inc., will receive an honorary Doctor of Laws at the Ivey graduates’ convocation event on October 21. Patrick Lam, Acting Chair of the Ivey Asia Advisory Board and CEO and Executive Director of FSE Holdings, will also receive an honorary Doctor of Laws at a convocation ceremony on October 20 for graduates of the Faculty of Education and Faculty of Engineering.
