Today, Ivey welcomes 56 new students who make up the Accelerated MBA (AMBA) Class of 2022.
The students will meet their learning teams at a virtual welcome reception tonight and then begin an online portion of the program tomorrow in preparation for a residence week in January that students can attend in person or virtually. The Class of 2022 is Ivey’s second cohort of the AMBA, which launched in November 2019.
Innovative blended learning
The 12-month AMBA program combines Ivey’s signature Case-Method Learning with online components in a blended format where 40 per cent of the content is delivered online and 60 per cent is delivered in person. It’s designed to enable students who already have an undergraduate business degree the opportunity to earn an MBA while they work.
David Wood, HBA ’97, MBA ’12, Faculty Director of the AMBA, said he is pleased the program has been in high demand.
“In only our second year, we reached capacity with another outstanding group of students,” he said. “This year, we are building on our success of delivering a blended model of synchronous and asynchronous experiential learning. Ivey’s approach to learning links theory to application using the case method. This unique approach to learning has an immediate impact on our students’ careers and the success of their firms.”
Ivey’s new AMBA students come from a wide range of backgrounds. Here’s a look at the AMBA Class of 2022 by the numbers.
