Today, we’re launching The Leaders by Ivey podcast series, which is focused on uncovering the hidden narratives and unlocking the key learnings to success as a leader. We’ll be bringing you some of Canada’s best leaders with a wide variety of backgrounds and interests – including highly talented leaders in the School and from the Ivey Alumni Network.
Episode 1 - Ivey Dean Sharon Hodgson on pivoting during a pandemic
The first episode, Leading change with a common purpose, features Dean Sharon Hodgson discussing how Ivey pivoted during the COVID-19 pandemic and transformed the immersive, world-class programming into a virtual experience. Case in point: the 11th Global Ivey Day being celebrated today will bring Ivey alumni and friends together virtually.
In the podcast, Hodgson shares key steps to approaching change and tells how adapting to the crisis has enabled Ivey to evolve.
“In almost every single area of the School there has been some innovation that has been created that I hope we are able to take with us into the future," she said.
She also discusses what inspires her most – the insights from alumni and friends of the School. They’ve shared their learnings with students in many ways over the years, most recently through the MBA Teachable Moments Virtual Speaker Series, a new program where students hear firsthand how leaders have navigated through the global pandemic.
“The leaders we’ve engaged have been tremendous in terms of those insights that are really going to make the difference between just getting your organization through (the crisis) and getting your organization to thrive on the other end of it,” she said.
We'll be sharing some of these leaders' insights and wisdom in future episodes. Stay tuned and don’t forget to subscribe through Apple Podcasts or Spotify.
