Ivey has renewed its commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) and will be focusing on substantial improvements in this area. There are many student organizations working to build a more inclusive community. Here’s a glance at how the Black Students at Ivey Collective supports students who self-identify as Black, both while at Ivey and out in the workforce.
What is the Black Students at Ivey Collective?
The Black Students at Ivey Collective (BSIC), founded in 2019, supports Black students across Ivey’s programs by providing a space for them to connect and receive mentorship. It acts as a bridge and communication point between Black students and Ivey’s administration.
Events for students
The BSIC offers mentorship events, connectivity events, and a welcome mixer. The group has also been in contact with some firms across different industries to provide networking opportunities to BSIC members.

The HBA program is a great experience, but it can be tough when you don’t see many people around who look like you. As a result, it can feel like you’re alone when facing certain challenges. BSIC was formed as a way for Black students at Ivey to connect with one another, to share and learn from one another’s experiences, and to create a sense of community.”
