At the annual Get Connected event, Ivey’s MBA students are learning how being connected to each other and their alumni network can help their future careers.
The three-day recruiting event, which is considered the students’ debut to the job market, runs June 10-12 at the Toronto Region Board of Trade. It is a mandatory part of the in-class Career Management curriculum for MBAs and is hosted by Ivey Career Management.

Featuring industry-specific panel discussions with Ivey alumni, corporate information sessions with recruiters, and networking opportunities, the students get a glimpse of what to expect during recruiting season as well as a chance to make valuable contacts. They also practise their interviewing skills during daily mock interview sessions.
In total, the students will meet with alumni and recruiters from 64 organizations.
While the event is not specifically geared toward helping them to get jobs, it is an important career-advancing initiative that will help the students to build their personal brands and work on their messaging.
It’s also an example of why Ivey Career Management is an important resource for the School.
