Ivey Executive MBA graduates gained insights on entrepreneurship from leaders of innovative startups at the inaugural EMBA 2.0 event.
EMBA 2.0 is an initiative from a cohort of EMBA 2018 graduates to reconnect and continue the case-based learning from the EMBA Program. The first session on January 12 included cases on corporate intrapreneurship and a blockchain startup, and three guest speakers:

- Jenessa Olson, MSc ’18, Co-Founder of STMNT, a clothing rental service; and,
- Usha Srinivasan, Vice President of Venture Programs at MaRS Discovery District, a not-for-profit corporation that supports entrepreneurs.
Larry Lau, EMBA ’18, Founder of Eighty8 Ventures and one of the EMBA 2.0 organizers, said EMBA 2.0 demonstrates the EMBA graduates’ commitment to lifelong learning. Approximately 30 people attended, from as far away as Russia.
“I strongly believe this was a testament to the calibre of individuals within our class,” he said.
Lau said future sessions are planned.
