With a roster of speakers drawn from the sports world, the Ivey Sports Management Conference brought information and opportunities about career opportunities in the sports world to an audience of eager students.
Featuring speakers such as Arizona Coyotes General Manager John Chayka, HBA ’14, the CEO of Golf Canada, Laurence Applebaum, HBA ’94, and Hockey Insider Elliotte Friedman, the student organizers of the Conference were thrilled with the reception it received from attendees.
"We have received amazing feedback from both speakers and delegates," said organizers Kate Taylor, HBA ’19 candidate and Quinn Thompson, BMOS: Finance Specialization. "We feel that this conference speaks to many people’s passions for a sports career and we hope it will be become an annual event for many years to come."
The conference brought together professionals in the sports industry with ambitious future leaders, who also had the opportunity to earn an interview for an internship with the Coyotes or Golf Canada. The students to be interviewed are Jacob Maclachlan, Hiral Patel, Aidan Jackson, and Mateo Molinaro.
The event included a case competition that provided delegates with the opportunity to demonstrate their unique set of skills to the many industry professionals who attended the conference.
