Whether working in traditional roles – such as finance in banks – helping non-profits, or even swimming across Lake Ontario, Ivey’s HBA2 students were busy this summer.
They began their second year of classes for the HBA Program this week and participated in a Welcome Back event on September 6. The event included an awards ceremony, a presentation from Ariana Simpson, HBA ’16, MBA ’19, and an overview from Ivey’s Career Management team on what the upcoming recruiting season might bring.
Here is a brief look at where the students worked this summer.

Along with summer jobs, some of the students participated in unconventional activities.
On September 1, Victor Lal, HBA '19 candidate, swam 52 kilometres from Niagara-on-the-Lake to Toronto to raise money to help Syrian refugee families come to Canada. The feat took 22 hours.
Congratulations to Lal and all of the HBA2 award recipients.
