September 3 kicks off the first day of O-Week 2015, a week-long celebration where our incoming HBA students meet each other, learn about the program, and get their first taste of the Ivey experience. O-Week is packed with daily activities both on and off campus and also includes various after-hours social nights.
The Agenda for O-Week 2015
September 3 – Transfer Day
Transfer Day is catered towards our HBA students coming from universities outside of Western. It gives students a chance to get familiar with Western campus and the HBA program.
September 4 – Opening Gala
Held at the London Convention Centre, the Opening Gala is a formal breakfast with speeches from Dean Robert Kennedy, keynote speaker and Ivey alumna Jannalee Anderson, HBA Program Director Mary Gillett, and others.
September 5 – Ivey Fair
Ivey Fair is the first opportunity students have to bond with their section mates and compete against other sections. An afternoon of bubble soccer, dodgeball, tug-of-war, and teambuilding activities – with a charity barbecue, too.
September 6 – Ivey Palooza
A student talent show shows off the diversity of the new HBA class – singing, dancing, performing, and more. There will be contests and giveaways, too!
September 7 – Ivey Bootcamp
The HBA program can be intimidating, which is why Ivey Bootcamp is dedicated to preparing the incoming class for the year ahead. Incoming HBA students will learn the ropes of Ivey’s case method of learning from the second year HBAs.
September 11 – Ivey Beach Day
What the O-Week team touts as “everyone’s favourite,” Beach Day gets HBAs away from campus and off to Port Stanley to wrap up the week.
