Hunter, and his Bitmaker Labs video entry, prevailed over four other finalists, receiving 46 per cent of the nearly 4,000 votes cast on the QuantumShift™ Contest website. Bitmaker Labs edged out second-place finisher, 5Cloud, by only 113 votes.

For his efforts, Hunter receives admission to the next session of the Ivey Business School’s QuantumShift™ executive education program. QuantumShift™ is targeted at CEOs whose businesses are past the startup phase and ready to take their thriving high-growth enterprise to a whole new level of success.

"Our business is fortunate to really only have one real struggle at the moment and that’s hyper-growth,” said Hunter. “Winning QuantumShift™ is going to help us navigate our year ahead as we expand our courses, launch new markets, and dramatically grow our team serving the tech community in Canada. It's an honour to be spending a week alongside the best entrepreneurs in the country and I couldn't be more excited."

Bitmaker Labs is Canada’s first and largest coding bootcamp offering programs for aspiring developers, designers, and marketers specializing in mobile, web and game development, online advertising, and user experience design.

“Bitmaker is a great example of a company that identified an underfilled niche and then moved quickly with quality service to fill that niche,” said Ivey Professor Eric Morse, Faculty Director, QuantumShift™. “Growth is a great problem to have but can be a problem if not harnessed effectively.  The QuantumShift™ program helps promising entrepreneurs improve their leadership and organizational capability and maximize their potential during this exciting phase of their business.”

Hunter was 28 years old when he became CEO of Bitmaker Labs. As a two-time drop out at university and college, he is passionate about delivering innovative educational programs. Prior to Bitmaker Labs, Hunter was one of Uber’s early employees helping to launch their presence in Vancouver, and worked on growth strategies in Toronto.
