Speaking to a full BMO Auditorium at Ivey Business School on Tuesday afternoon, Bank of Canada Governor Stephen Poloz stressed that central banking needs to be reinvented for Canada to reach a stable financial future.
Poloz, a Western alumnus, delivered the address as part of the Western’s President’s Lecture Series to a packed auditorium of Ivey and Western students, as well as guests from Western University and the London community.
"We are still a long way from home and the headwinds are strong," said Poloz, MA ’79, PhD ’82 (Economics), who told the audience the lessons he learned as a Western student 35 years ago still ring true today. Poloz ended this year’s President’s Lecture Series with a candid Q&A with members of the audience.
