This hands-on approach to learning has made her a successful leader and, under her watch, Linamar has adopted this philosophy to groom other potential business leaders from within.
Hasenfratz will share this experience and insights on how leadership and culture drive business prosperity when she returns to Ivey Business School on February 18 to present the 2014 Thomas d’Aquino Lecture on Leadership.
The Thomas d’Aquino Lecture on Leadership is an annual event sponsored by Ivey’s Lawrence National Centre for Policy and Management to salute the contributions of Canadian business leader, philanthropist, educator and author, Thomas d’Aquino, to business, public policy and non-profit sectors.
The lecture offers Ivey’s students the opportunity to engage with some of Canada’s greatest leaders.
“Linda Hasenfratz leads by example. She is one of Canada’s most influential business leaders and an excellent choice for this year’s lecture,” said Ivey Professor Paul Boothe, Director of the Lawrence Centre. “Under her leadership, Linamar Corporation has not only survived tough times of the Great Recession but has grown into a successful global business. She is a real inspiration to our students.”
Past presenters have included Clerk of the Privy Council, Kevin Lynch; Governor of the Bank of Canada, David Dodge; Deputy Prime Minister, John Manley; Home Depot Canada President, Annette Verschuren; and Canadian Ambassador to the United States, Michael Wilson. In 2013, the Lecture was presented by Bank of Canada Governor, Mark Carney. The inaugural Lecture was given by Thomas d’Aquino in 2006.
