And that journey has resulted in some groundbreaking research on how leaders help teams succeed.
That’s why Morgeson, Professor, Michigan State University, won the inaugural Best Leadership Paper Award from Ivey’s Ian O. Ihnatowycz Institute for Leadership. The award celebrates excellence in scholarly research in an academic journal and was awarded to Morgeson for his paper, Leadership in Teams: A Functional Approach to Understanding Leadership Structures and Processes, in the Journal of Management. The award selection committee praised the paper for the uniqueness of the research, the number of actionable items included and the impact made since being published in 2010.
Morgeson visited Ivey on January 17 as part of the Ivey Research Series to present insights from his career in studying team leadership.
