Until recently, workplaces haven’t paid much attention to the benefits of having neurodiverse staff, such as individuals with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and dyspraxia.
In an interview for BBC Business Daily, Rob Austin, a professor of Information Systems, describes how the understanding of cognitive differences is gradually improving.
“With some additional efforts. With some additional accommodations. And also with some additional job design, you can activate the talent of neurodiverse individuals,” said Austin.
