Minister of Finance Bill Morneau announced the Liberal government’s first budget for 2016 on Tuesday March 22. Ivey faculty tackled the subject in the media, addressing how the first budget has measured up so far against expectations and predictions.
In Canadian Business, Assistant Professor Mike Moffatt broke down a list of eight items he expected the federal budget to take on, six of which were addressed.
Moffatt is already looking ahead to 2017, forecasting possible items to be included in next year’s federal budget in his piece for Maclean’s.
Bringing the budget focus to climate change in their op-ed for iPolitics, Professor Paul Boothe, Director of the Lawrence National Centre for Policy and Management, and Visiting Fellow Felix Boudreault highlighted the government’s commitment to taking action on climate change and reducing greenhouse gases.
