Professors Mike Moffatt and Rick Robertson both spoke with The Toronto Star about the claim made by Ontario Progressive Conservative leader Tim Hudak that cutting corporate income taxes is a clear answer for job creation in the province.
In the article, Moffatt and Robertson discuss that adjusting taxes themselves may not be the solution:
“If we had really high corporate taxes, I would say, absolutely bring those down — and they would bring people here. But they are already fairly low,” Moffatt said.
“Taxes matter but they’re not even close to the only issue that businesses think about when they make an investment,” Robertson added.
