In his new book “Value(s): Building a Better World for All,” Mark Carney explores how market societies have crowded out values, contributing to economic and environmental crises, and argues that values need to be fundamentally at the centre of government policy making and corporate purpose. As Canada simultaneously faces a global health crisis, climate emergency and growing economic uncertainty, our discussants will contemplate how values will be crucial for charting actionable policies to ensure Canada’s path to long term, inclusive, and sustainable development.
Moderated by Ivey's Dean Sharon Hodgson, this engaging dialogue will feature:
Mark Carney
Former Governor of the Bank of Canada and Bank of England & UN Special Envoy on Climate Action and Finance
Stephen S. Poloz
Former Bank of Canada Governor & Lawrence National Centre Advisory Council Chair
Andy Chisholm, MBA '85
Board of Directors of Royal Bank of Canada & Member of Canada’s Expert Panel on Sustainable Finance
