Application Policies

Applications to Multiple Programs

We recommend applicants to thoroughly research each program and decide on one program only. Submitting multiple applications generally does not demonstrate commitment to one area of study. By solely focusing your efforts on one program application, the quality and effort presented in the application is more thorough and thoughtful. If multiple applications are submitted, you will be contacted by the admissions committee to choose only one program stream to be considered for.

Re-Application

Applicants who have been denied to the Ivey MSc in Management Program must wait a minimum of two application rounds before re-applying. Waiting one year before re-applying is highly recommended, as re-applicants should focus on how they have improved their application.

This is also applicable for applying to different program streams. If you were denied from one stream, it is not recommended to apply to a different program stream the following round. Re-applicants do not have a relative advantage, or disadvantage, compared with other candidates.

Deferral Requests

Deferrals are granted very rarely and on an individual basis. If you wish to request a deferral, please contact us directly at msc@ivey.ca

GMAT/GRE Waivers

Who can apply for a GMAT/GRE waiver?

Graduates of a four-year undergraduate degree in business (or related discipline) who achieved a 78% average or higher over their final two years of study may be eligible to have the GMAT admission requirement waived. These waivers are awarded during the admissions process.

A competitive GMAT Focus score for the MSc in Management Program would be 555 or greater.

We accept both the GMAT and the GRE score, but will convert your GRE score to a GMAT score. To see an approximate score, please go to this site.

To send your official GMAT, GRE, scores directly to Ivey's Admissions Team, please use the following institution codes:

  • GMAT: CMB-MG-69
  • GRE: 0290

Language Requirements

In order to be eligible for the MSc with CEMS stream, students must possess a high-level of fluency (at minimum a B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) in English and one additional language.
