Why did you decide to do an MBA?

In North America, having an MBA is highly practical for career development. I also believe that pursuing an MBA offers a great opportunity for personal recalibration, as it opens doors to work in various cities and industries. Additionally, if I need to supplement my knowledge in specific areas of interest, I can certainly do so through elective courses.

What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?

Be open-minded.

Some people consider Ivey because its graduates have the highest average salary in Canada. Ivey's reputation is high as it is the best MBA program in Canada. Ivey is a one-year program, so the opportunity cost is the lowest. Additionally, Ivey's unique case method is highly practical. However, in my opinion, the most unique asset of Ivey is its students. Our peers have an average of 5.5 years of work experience; CFA, CPA, and P.Eng designations are not uncommon at Ivey. Many of our classmates come from prestigious companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Bain, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte, and others.

Therefore, at Ivey, you will never be the best in every aspect. While you may excel in certain subjects and achieve great results, there will always be someone who surpasses you in other areas. This is precisely what makes Ivey so captivating—it consistently attracts the best talents from various fields and fosters mutual growth through classroom discussions.

Being open-minded and always willing to listen to others’ opinions is the most significant thing I've learned at Ivey. Learn from your peers, professors, and alumni you meet during coffee chats, and from every case you read. Absorb everything you learn at Ivey like a sponge. These insights may not immediately translate into tangible benefits upon graduation, but they will plant seeds in your mind, eventually inspiring you to become a better person in the future.
