Where did you live before you joined Ivey?

Abuja, Nigeria

Why did you decide to do an MBA?

I decided to pursue an MBA to elevate my career to a global level, leveraging my background in financial and management reporting. As a woman in the workplace, I’ve navigated various industries, from startups to public sector organizations, and have taken on leadership roles that have shaped my journey. The MBA is my way of breaking through barriers, gaining worldwide recognition, and positioning myself for higher-level opportunities. It’s also about expanding my network, meeting new people, and immersing myself in different cultures—key elements that are essential for both my professional and personal growth. All these with the inclusion of having a good time.

What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?

The most significant thing I’ve learned at Ivey is the power of building credibility and the importance of teamwork. Throughout my time at Ivey, I’ve seen how essential it is to establish trust and respect with peers and colleagues. Credibility isn’t just about expertise; it’s about consistently delivering on promises and supporting others. Equally, teamwork has shown me that collaboration is key to achieving success. No matter how skilled an individual may be, the collective strength of a team, where everyone’s contributions are valued, is what drives real progress.

What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?

The most surprising thing for me was how quickly we became a family. It’s hard to believe we all met in March of this year. The overall experience allowed us to see each other in all our glory. We support and cheer each other on, while still having honest and meaningful conversations that help us prepare for life after the MBA.

Ivey in a few words:

Your Ivey experience has been a journey of rapid and profound connection, marked by your role as VP Communications barely 6 weeks into the program. Despite meeting your peers only in March, I quickly became part of the close-knit community. This role allowed you to facilitate communication and foster relationships, helping you see people in their truest form. The experience has been a blend of awesome and candid discussions, providing a supportive network while preparing you and your peers for the challenges and opportunities after the MBA.
