Why did you decide to do an MBA?

During that time, I was contemplating whether to pursue a career as a personal contributor or as a people manager. To explore the managerial path, I tried an entry-level management role and found it immensely enjoyable. Witnessing the significant value and impact it can bring to others, I was motivated to further develop my leadership skills. Additionally, I recognized the importance of acquiring business and finance-related knowledge that is crucial for higher management positions. Pursuing an MBA was the ideal opportunity to achieve these objectives.

What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?

Having a structured mindset is the most significant thing I've learned at Ivey. It involves analyzing available information and presenting a thorough answer as a process for solving a case problem or coming up with an answer to a discussion question. This approach allows for a systematic and organized way of breaking down complex problems, identifying relevant information, and developing a logical framework for analysis. With a structured mindset, I can effectively evaluate different perspectives, consider various factors, and arrive at well-informed conclusions or solutions. Moreover, it has helped me enhance my critical thinking and problem-solving skills, enabling me to make informed decisions based on evidence and logical reasoning. Additionally, this skill has improved my communication abilities, allowing me to express my ideas, analysis, and recommendations clearly and concisely in written reports, class discussions, or presentations. Overall, having a structured mindset has formed a strong foundation for success in problem-solving, decision-making, and collaborative work in the business world.

What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?

The most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date has been the workload. Despite being aware of the program's intensity and receiving reminders before it began, I have been overwhelmed and taken aback by the amount of time and effort required to ensure quality learning for the following day. This has been especially true when trying to complete supplementary readings. It has become evident that a significant time commitment is necessary, particularly for those without a related background, in order to ensure a successful and fulfilling experience.

How do you manage stress (i.e. sports, exercise, meditation etc)?

Doing Pilate, going out to the nature, shopping, sleeping, cuddling my dog, watching a movie, hanging out or chatting with a friend.
