Why did you decide to do an MBA?

After working in retail banking and wealth management I decided I want to make a pivot in my career. I was striving towards leadership roles and I knew completing my JD/MBA would give me the best opportunity to do so. I wanted to be challenged in an professional setting with other experts in their respective backgrounds so they would push me to hone my own skills.

What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?

The most significant takeaway I learned from Ivey is our potential to improve our weaknesses with practice. Everyone comes into Ivey with different strengths and through collaboration, it fosters an environment for us all to learn from each other.

What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?

The most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date is without a doubt the people. I came in expecting a hyper competitive environment, however I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone is so friendly and willing to help each other. Western is not typically a commuter school so there many others just like you moving to a new city and looking to make friends.

What books are on your bedside table AND/OR what podcast are you listing to right now?

Books on my bedside table are:

  • 48 Laws of Power- Robert Greene

Podcast I listen on repeat is:

  • Can't Hurt- David Goggins
I attribute this podcast for the reason I pushed myself to get into the MBA program and Law School

How do you manage stress (i.e. sports, exercise, meditation etc)?

Weight lifting, walking my dog, hanging out with friends and NOT talking about school related topics.

Any additional info you might want to share (interesting facts, special hobbies etc.)

In my spare time I enjoy riding my motorcycle and practicing Muay Thai. I am a connoisseur of anything Uber Eats and have been booed off many stand-up comedy nights.
