What is the Ivey Connects Community Internship Program?
The Ivey Connects Community Internship Program is designed to give business students greater awareness of how the community sector operates by giving them an opportunity to work over the summer for a not-for-profit organization in the Toronto or London regions. Non-profit organizations (NPOs) will gain strategic decision-making and implementation skills, and students will gain practical work experience.
The London Life Ivey Connects Community Internship Program began in 2005 and has funded 97 non-profit internships to date.
Who are Student Interns?
Student interns are third or fourth-year university students completing their Honours Business Administration (HBA) degree at the Ivey Business School, one of Canada’s top business schools. Previous work experiences from students range from accounting, marketing, finance functions, year-end reporting, and partnerships.

Testimonials from Previous Participants
My role was to create a 3 year strategic plan for the organization. Within my position I had a great deal of autonomy and was able to collect and analyze data, meet with managers/directors, and work on projects within the organization as I saw fit."
- Salvation Army Centre of Hope Summer Intern
The LEAP internship has opened up a wide range of career paths and networks for me in the Toronto social impact space. Furthermore, as a dual degree student I was given the rare opportunity to combine my knowledge from my business and global development degrees to meaningfully shape how the Centre works with Indigenous-focused charities. I strongly encourage other compassionate leaders to use their business rigour to create change through an Ivey Connects internship!"
- LEAP Centre for Social Impact Summer Intern
The internship program provides participating organizations with the opportunity to have access to local expertise with a fresh perspective providing valuable insight into the operation of the organization."
