Ivey has a history of research excellence in international business. The following list shows the school’s placement is various academic studies that rank research productivity and impact.

  • 2020: Management International Review ranked Ivey (Western University) in third place among 847 institutions for International Business research output for 2001-2015.

  • 2017: Journal of International Business Studies named Ivey (University of Western Ontario) as tied for sixth in its ranking of Top Contributing Universities between 1970-2016. The same article named Ivey faculty Professors Paul Beamish tied for fifth and Professor Klaus Meyer (tied for eighteenth) among its Top 25 Most Published Authors.

  • 2014: Management International Review ranked Ivey eighth in the world and fifth in North America among International Business programs for weighted normalized citations. The article named Ivey Professors Paul Beamish in fifth and Klaus Meyer in twelfth place in the author ranking.

  • 2010: International Business Review listed Ivey (University of Western Ontario) in fifth place among its worldwide ranking of institutional and faculty productivity in the International Business field. The article named Professor Paul Beamish as second in its list of most productive International Business scholars worldwide.

  • 2003: Journal of International Management named Ivey (University of Western Ontario) as first in its ranking of institutions contributing to International Strategic Management research. The article named Ivey Professor Paul Beamish as the third most productive scholar in the study.

  • 1997: Journal of International Management placed Ivey (University of Western Ontario) first among its ranking of institutions contributing to International Strategic Management research between 1986-1995. The article named Ivey Professor Paul Beamish as the third most productive scholar.
