Why Ivey?

I chose Ivey because I was enamored with the case study method as I prefer hands-on learning. Additionally, I valued the opportunity to become more comfortable with ambiguity and develop my critical thinking skills through case discussions.

What have you learned so far at Ivey?

My key takeaway from Ivey is that there is never an objective right answer in business. The HBA program taught me that a problem can be tackled from many angles.

What has one highlight of your Ivey Experience been so far?

For me, serving as Editor-in-Chief for the Ivey Business Review encapsulates the Ivey Experience. It has allowed me to apply the skills gained at Ivey to work towards a common goal with my peers. However, above all else, I have been able to forge unforgettable memories and lifelong friendships.

What advice do you have for incoming HBA students?  

Make decisions with the mindset of having no regrets. Ivey is a time to say “yes” to new and sometimes scary, experiences.  

How has Ivey’s Career Management set you up for success?

Career Management attracts a diverse mix of opportunities to Ivey. They not only opened the doors to companies I was interested in, but also to companies I had never even considered. They were pivotal during the negotiation process with my potential employers.

What was it like coming into the Ivey classroom environment?

Coming into the Ivey classroom environment was a refreshing change from the first two years of university. The smaller class size helped me form new, meaningful relationships. The encouragement of individual thought during class discussions was daunting at first, but was ultimately very enjoyable. Everyone at Ivey is always willing to listen and help one another.
