Why Ivey?

I wanted to join a business program where I would have a balanced learning experience, with strong exposure to multiple industries upon graduation. At Ivey I have learned the important skill of making decisions. No other business program emphasizes this skill like Ivey does, and at Ivey we're forced to make firm decisions in every case. Moreover, the contribution method ensures that you are constantly learning.

What was one highlight of your Ivey Experience?

The highlight of Ivey has to be the section experience. Working closely with 75 extremely driven individuals who are going through the same experience as you is something that cannot be replicated. Going into the year I felt like I was paired up with 75 strangers. By the end, however, I knew that they had become 75 of my closest friends.

What advice would you give incoming HBA students?

Get involved within Ivey. Meeting other Ivey students is the best part of the school experience, and the best way to do that is to get involved with things that you are passionate about. Whether that be clubs or the HBAA, getting involved always adds to your experience.

Given the demanding curriculum in HBA1, what support is available for students?

Coming into the Ivey classroom can be a very intimidating experience. The Ivey classroom has a bit of a fishbowl experience aspect to it, but you quickly learn to love it.

In my opinion, the HBA2's provide the strongest support system for new Ivey students. From your gurus, to Club members, to the HBAA, these students have been there before and are more than happy to help you with anything that you might need.

The Career Management Team at Ivey did a terrific job of training all Ivey students for the recruiting period. From the resume database to networking etiquette, I felt very well prepared when I ultimately began the process.
