What was your Program of Study for Years 1 and 2?
Bachelor in Management and Organizational Studies— While I was in the BMOS program, I enjoyed studying a wide array of social science courses during these two years from philosophy to anthropology to personal finance.

Why did you choose Ivey’s HBA program?
I was interested in pursuing a business education as an interdisciplinary tool that I could use to better understand and empower individuals and communities to make positive change. I quickly realized Ivey’s HBA program was the best opportunity to better myself as an individual and as a young business professional.
Describe one highlight of your Ivey Experience thus far.
The highlight of my Ivey experience was being surrounded by remarkable individuals. Section mates, professors, faculty, facilities and hospitality staff, and special guests at Ivey all bring a wealth of knowledge and experience with them to the school.It was constantly humbling to learn from them all.
What advice do you have for incoming HBA students?
You get out of the HBA program what you put into it. Have trust in yourself and in the process.The HBA program is designed to embrace diversity while challenging all candidates. Believe in yourself and bring your own unique values and experiences to the table and Ivey will take care of the rest!
How has Ivey’s Career Management set you up for success?
Career Management is an accessible and tailored tool that is integral to the HBA program’s success. Career Management’s ongoing outreach and relationships with companies around the world help elevate Ivey’s reputation, and bring current recruiting practices into the classroom through professional development exercises.
What kind of support did you find the most helpful with the intense curriculum in HBA1?
All of my professors were incredibly supportive both in their approach to teaching in the classroom and their engagement outside of class time. Professors at Ivey demand a high level of respect and having such highly regarded figures express their support for, and belief in, my classmates and I was greatly appreciated throughout all of the excitement of the HBA1 curriculum.
What has been the most challenging part of the program for you?
The most challenging part of the HBA program was trying to get the very most out of it!There are so many rich resources all throughout the program, it can be a challenge to make the most of the abundance of opportunities that present themselves along the way.
What are your plans for after graduation?
I hope to return to my home of Newfoundland and Labrador and use what I have learned at Ivey to address both the great challenges and the great opportunities that we face. In an effort to gain the skills to help me best contribute at home, I am grateful to be joining RBC Capital Markets in Toronto in Investment Banking upon graduation.
