Why Ivey?
I chose Ivey because it is exceptional for the learning and career opportunities it offers. I wanted to learn through real business cases and the perspectives of my peers, and I also knew that Ivey has an excellent track record for enabling students to achieve their career goals.
The meetings Career Management facilitates between Ivey and various firms are invaluable. The variety and caliber of firms which we have access to through Ivey is one of the key strengths of the program.
At Ivey, I have learned how to analyze a diverse range of businesses, think on my feet, and present and defend my perspective.
What was one highlight of your Ivey Experience?
One of my favorite aspects of Ivey is its tight-knit community of both current students and alumni who are incredibly willing to support each other. The help I've received from Ivey peers and alumni has been invaluable to me, and something I hope to share with others.
What advice would you give incoming HBA students?
First of all, to be excited for your next two years! Working hard in your academics pays off but also enjoy the time you'll have with your peers.
Given the demanding curriculum in HBA1, what support is available for students?
Especially as a transfer student, coming into an Ivey classroom was slightly disorienting at first. However, I quickly grew to appreciate it and enjoy it much more than a conventional lecture class.
One of the best sources of support is other students. Working with your peers is a great way to prepare for class. HBA2s are also available for tutoring and for general advice.
