Additional Information
Why Ivey?
I chose Ivey because of its emphasis on diversity. Every student comes into their first HBA1 class with a different background, program and more importantly, varying perspective. Having such a diverse set of students enriches the classroom discussion and promotes a more fulfilling learning experience.
What have you learned so far at Ivey?
Over these past two years at Ivey, I have learned first-hand that working well in teams is a skill that must be developed in order to succeed in business. Experiences such as 48 hour reports and case competitions allow HBA students to hone their teamwork skills and their ability to produce high quality work under pressure.
What advice do you have for incoming HBA students?
Get as much out of Ivey as possible! Join those clubs you are interested in and try to get involved as much as possible. Taking initiative outside of the classroom will enrich your overall Ivey Experience and allow you to meet students beyond your section.
How has Ivey’s Career Management set you up for success?
Ivey’s Career Management played a significant role in my recruiting experience and was a great support system throughout the process. At any point of the day, Career Management was always readily available to chat and answer any of my questions regarding career and recruiting.
What was it like coming into the Ivey classroom environment?
At first, I was incredibly nervous. There were so many new faces and the structure of each class was unlike anything I had experienced before. Thankfully, to my surprise almost every other student in HBA1 was feeling the same way. After a few weeks, class discussions got richer and the friendships got stronger.
