Why Ivey?

I chose Ivey because I wanted a chance to challenge myself beyond the usual learning models. I wanted the opportunity to learn to think for myself instead of just memorizing terms and concepts. I wanted to work with like-minded people in a program that continually demanded higher expectations and results.

What I think makes Ivey stand out from other business schools is that it teaches you a lot about yourself. It gives you the opportunity to figure out what kind of leader you want to be, how to work well under pressure, and how to balance your time effectively in high demand situations.

What was one highlight of your Ivey Experience?

Getting to know my Section has been the highlight of my Ivey Experience. Having the opportunity to meet and work with so many incredible individuals is really what I believe makes Ivey so special.

What advice would you give incoming HBA students?

Be yourself, because that’s how you got into the program. 

Given the demanding curriculum in HBA1, what support is available for students?

The Ivey classroom environment is great; it’s a welcoming and safe place. Everyone is there to learn, and help each other. Right or wrong your contribution can always assist in someone’s learning.

There is a ton of support available at Ivey, anyone from your professors and section mates, to peer support programs and tutoring services.

Also, the recruiting process is by no means easy but Ivey’s Career Management does a great job in terms of helping you understand what to expect. Their assistance with my cover letters and resumes really helped me.
