Why Ivey?
I chose Ivey because the structure of the program allowed me to pursue the two degrees that I am most passionate about.
What has one highlight of your Ivey Experience been so far?
Being elected to Vice President of Student Events in my second year of Ivey is one of my highlights. This position gave me the opportunity to take part in planning events such as formals and Ivey’s Orientation week. It allowed me to develop my leadership skills and have an impact on the student experience at Ivey.
What advice do you have for incoming HBA students?
I would encourage incoming HBA students to enjoy the experience for everything that it is. Everything from the 48-hour reports, to networking and section events will make your experience memorable. Remember that you will be entering the real world soon enough, so enjoy your time at Ivey while you can.
How has Ivey’s Career Management set you up for success?
Ivey’s Career Management team really helped us prepare for recruiting season. They helped prepare our resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles and taught us networking etiquette.
With the intense curriculum in HBA1, what support is available for students?
Being surrounded by so many bright individuals, competing for a chance to participate in class can be very intimidating to say the least. However, once you get to know your peers you do feel more comfortable and confident contributing to the class’ learning.
I believe that your peers, specifically the upper year students at Ivey, are your greatest support network as they have been in your shoes and are always more than happy to help a fellow HBA.
