Ivey Scholarships and Awards are available to our HBA students during the course of the program, from admission to convocation. The recipient selection is extremely competitive due to the high calibre of students admitted to the Ivey HBA Program.

The award finder tool below provides an overview and brief description of each award and category available to our students.  Please note while we try our best to maintain the accuracy of this website, the information is subject to change. The HBA Admission Award application is within the "Apply for Awards" section in the HBA application and AEO2 Intent to Register. There is not a separate application for these awards.

Currie HBA2 Award in EntrepreneurshipAwarded annually to a student enrolled in HBA2 at Ivey Business School, based on academic achievement, leadership skills, and personification of the spirit, passion and drive necessary to become a successful entrepreneur. Preference will be given to a Canadian citizen. The HBA Scholarship Committee, in consultation with the Pierre L. Morrissette Institute for Entrepreneurship, will make the final selection of the recipient. This award was established with a generous gift from John R. Currie HBA '60.$24500
Financial Need and Merit AwardsJohn T. Nicholson AwardAwarded to a full-time student entering Year 1 of the Honors Business Administration program based on the individual's contribution to school, university life and demonstrated financial need. Funds were raised by the Class of 1981 through Foundation Western in memory of Dr. John T. Nicholson, a staff member for many years. 1 @ $1,500 continuing$1500
Merit ScholarshipsJon and Nancy Love HBA AwardAwarded annually to a student of outstanding quality entering first year of the HBA program. As the donor believes in the value of public education, the successful student will have graduated from a high school from a publicly-funded Board of Education in Canada. Preference will be given to a student who has graduated from a high school in Alberta. The award will continue in Year 2 upon successful completion of Year 1. This award is made possible by a donation from Nancy Yeomans Love (HBA '76) and Jon Love (HBA '76) through Foundation Western. 1 @ $7,300 continuing$7300
Financial Need and Merit AwardsKayser Family Foundation HBA AwardAwarded to HBA 2 students at the Ivey Business School who are pursuing a combined degree, based on financial need and demonstrated community leadership. Online financial assistance applications are available through Student Center and must be submitted by September 30. The HBA Scholarship Review Committee will make the final selection of the recipients once the Office of the Registrar has assessed financial need. This award was established with a generous gift from The Kayser Family Foundation. 2 at $5,000$5000
Financial Need and Merit AwardsKeith R Halpenny HBA AwardAwarded annually to a student enrolled in the HBA Program with demonstrated financial need and who has graduated from a publicly funded high-school. This award was established with a generous gift from Keith R Halpenny, HBA '55 with Foundation Western. 2 awards @ 2,500 each$2500
Merit ScholarshipsKenneth R. Good Family Indigenous Student AwardAwarded annually to a self-identified Indigenous student (First Nations, Inuit, Métis) in HBA1 or HBA2 at the Ivey Business School, based on academic performance (minimum 70% average) and previous and/or intended contributions toward Indigenous communities. If no students can be identified, then the award will be offered to an Indigenous student (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis) enrolled in the MBA program. If an Indigenous candidate cannot be identified in either program, then two awards will be available to Indigenous students in the following year. The HBA (or MBA) Scholarship Committee will work in consultation with Western's Office of Indigenous Initiatives to review Indigenous applicants. Financial Need and Merit AwardsKPMG Award in BusinessAvailable to a student enrolled in undergraduate studies in the Honors Business Administration degree program with financial need and who demonstrates a career interest in accounting or management consulting. $1100
Merit ScholarshipsKPMG Equity, Diversity and Inclusion HBA2 AwardAwarded annually to full-time HBA2 students at the Ivey Business School with a minimum 70% average who exhibit enthusiasm, demonstrate behaviours, and act intentionally to foster a safe community that embraces equity, diversity, and inclusion. The recipient will be nominated by their peers and selected by the HBA Scholarship Committee, with input from Ivey Faculty and members of the HBA Association. These awards were established with a generous gift from KPMG Foundation. 2 @ $7,500$7500
Merit ScholarshipsKPMG Foundation Dean's HBA Entrance ScholarshipAwarded to a full-time student who is entering Year 1 of the HBA Program based on academic achievement (minimum 80% admission average). The scholarship will be renewed for HBA Year 2 if the recipient maintains the defined criteria in HBA Year 1. If a student does not meet this requirement, another Year 2 student will be selected as a replacement. 1 @ $3,200 continuing$3200
Financial Need and Merit AwardsKranjc Family 125th Anniversary Alumni AwardAwarded to a full-time student in HBA Year 2 based on financial need who is also in the top half of their class. The Ivey Financial Aid Office will electronically communicate the Ivey HBA in-program award applications throughout the fall-winter timeframe. This award was established by Mr. Stan R. Kranjc (HBA '86) through Foundation Western. $1500
Financial Need and Merit AwardsL. Darlene Vincent, HBA ‘73 BursaryAwarded to full-time undergraduate students entering HBA1 in the Ivey Business School who are self-identified women from Ontario based on financial need. Preference will be given to students that are First Generation and students outside of the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). The bursary will continue in HBA2 provided that the recipient continues to demonstrate financial need. Only one student may hold this bursary in any given year. Online financial assistance applications are available through Student Center and must be submitted by October 31. The Office of the Registrar will select the recipients. Merit ScholarshipsLinamar Scholarship for Women in Engineering and BusinessAwarded annually to a student, who self-identifies as a women, entering HBA 1 with the intention of completing the dual degree program in Engineering and Ivey (BESC/HBA) based on academic achievement and a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in engineering and business. Candidates must be Canadian citizens or eligible to work in Canada. This scholarship will continue for the second and third years of the dual degree program provided the recipient is accepted into the dual degree program in Engineering and Business. All recipients will have an opportunity to participate in a summer co-op with Linamar Corporation following years 3 and 4. An offer of full-time employment at Linamar Corporation may also be extended pending successful completion of the program and co-op terms. A recipient is not obligated to participate in the summer co-op or accept employment at Linamar Corporation following graduation to retain the scholarship. If a recipient fails to complete the summer co-op for any reason, the recipient will still retain the scholarship provided that the conditions of the scholarship are met. This scholarship was created through a generous gift from the Hasenfratz and Newton Families and Linamar Corporation to promote and encourage women to pursue the dual degree program in Engineering and Ivey (BESc/HBA).$12600
Financial Need and Merit AwardsLincoln Barakett Memorial Scholarship (HBA1)Awarded annually to a full-time HBA1 student at the Ivey Business School, based on academic achievement and demonstrated financial need. The award was established with a generous gift from The Brett and Meaghan Barakett Foundation. 2 @ $10,000 $10000

Financial Need and Merit AwardsLloyd Sipherd Continuing HBA AwardAwarded to a student entering the first year of the HBA program who demonstrates financial need and a minimum B average. The award will be renewed in Year two if the student maintains the defined criteria in HBA Year one.  If the student does not meet these requirements, Year two students will have an opportunity to apply for this award.  The HBA Scholarship Committee of the Ivey Business School will review and select each award recipient. Financial Need and Merit AwardsLondon So Family AwardAwarded to a full-time student in HBA2 in the Ivey Business School based on academic achievement and financial need, and who is actively pursuing a dual degree in HBA/MIT. This award will continue for an additional year provided that the candidate remains in the combined program, maintains a 70% average and continues to demonstrate financial need. In the event there is no eligible candidate in the HBA/MIT program, consideration will extend to students pursuing any dual degree program. Only one student may hold this award in any given year. If the student does not retain the award, another student in the same year meeting the criteria will be selected. Online financial need assistance applications are available through Student Center and must be submitted by September 30. The Office of the Registrar will determine financial need eligibility and the HBA Scholarship Committee will make the final selection of the recipient. Value: 1 at $5,000, continuing$5000
Financial Need and Merit AwardsLori Muir Melnyk Honors Business Administration AwardThis award is presented to deserving students entering the HBA program who have demonstrated financial need, academic achievement and leadership qualities. Applicants who do not complete the award section of their HBA application will not be considered for an Ivey HBA admission award. This scholarship was established by a generous donation from Lori and Eugene Melnyk through Foundation Western. 6 awards @ $8,500$8500
Merit ScholarshipsMaija Nenonen Memorial AwardAwarded to full-time students entering HBA1 at the Ivey Business School based on a minimum 70% average, community leadership and originating from Northern Ontario. Preference will be given to a student that is interested in Operations and Data Analytics. The HBA Scholarship Committee will make the final selection of the recipient. Value: 1 at $5,000 $5000
Financial Need and Merit AwardsMary and Barry Ullett 125th Anniversary OSOTF AwardAwarded to a full-time student who is entering Year I of the HBA program based on financial need and academic excellence (minimum 70%). Preference will be given to candidates from Guelph or Brantford, Ontario. Must be Ontario resident. Applicants who do not complete the award section of their HBA application will not be considered for an Ivey HBA admission award.$2500
Merit ScholarshipsMichael A. R. Wilson Family HBA ScholarshipAwarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student at Western who has been accepted into Ivey’s Advanced Entry Opportunity (AEO), based on academic achievement (minimum 80% academic average) and demonstrated leadership skills. A strong preference will be given to a candidate from the Ottawa, Ontario area. If a recipient from the Ottawa area is not found, preference will be given to a student from Eastern Ontario. The recipient will receive this award upon entering HBA 1. If for some reason, the AEO recipient does not enter HBA 1 at Ivey they will forfeit the award, and another HBA 1 student who meets the criteria will be selected. The award will be renewed for HBA 2 provided the candidate maintains a minimum 80% average. The selection of the recipient will be made by the HBA Scholarship Review Committee.
