Christian Dippel is an Associate Professor of Strategy, Policy and International Business. After a brief stint in investment banking, Christian completed his Ph.D. at Toronto’s Rotman School of Management where his doctoral dissertation garnered a record number of awards (incl. the Tom Easterbrook Fellowship, Hartle Award, Ontario Graduate Scholarship, Albert Berry Prize, and Mary Jane Hendrie Memorial Prize).

 

Before joining Ivey, Christian spent a decade at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management. He is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), and has held consulting positions with the World Bank, Stanford’s Hoover Institution, and the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank. His research has been funded by the NSF and Canada’s SSHRC, and has been published in top econ journals such as Econometrica and the American Economic Review. 

He teaches courses at the intersection of business strategy, global macro and technological disruption, for which he has received the Teaching Excellence Award in the Executive MBA program. He also runs the AI Strategy for Competitive Advantage open enrollment program in Ivey’s Executive Education portfolio.

 

Outside of Ivey, Christian has co-founded several technology scale-ups in the domains of DaaS, media products / digital consumables, and AI readiness.
