Ms. Morphet, CFA is Senior Vice-President & Chief Investment Officer of Empire Life Investments. Prior to joining Empire Life in 2009, Gaelen was First Vice-President, Canadian Equities with CIBC Global Asset Management from 2002 to 2009, Senior Vice President at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers from 1999 to 2002 and Partner & Senior Portfolio Manager with AMI Partners Inc from 1996 to 1999. Ms Morphet began her career in 1984 at investment firm, McLeod Young Weir, following which she spent a decade with Scotia Investment Management as Senior Portfolio Manager heading up Canadian Equities. Throughout her 28 year career in the investment management industry Ms. Morphet has proven herself as a superior investment professional. She is a Chartered Financial analyst and a graduate of The University of Western Ontario. Ms. Morphet is a Trustee for the Art Gallery of Ontario and Chairman of the Investment Committee. She serves as a Trustee for the Ontario Science Centre, is a Director of the Ontario Arts Foundation and is a member of the Advisory Board for the Kingsett Real Estate Income Fund. Gaelen is a former Governor of the North York General Hospital Foundation.
