Purpose and Impact

Why is inclusive leadership essential for team success?

Today’s workplace is evolving, with diverse perspectives and collaboration becoming critical to innovation and performance. However, many leaders struggle to break down barriers preventing their teams from thriving. Empowering People and Teams is a three-day immersive learning experience designed to help leaders build more inclusive, collaborative environments. Leaders can create a work culture that leverages diversity for enhanced team performance by fostering greater awareness of how identities shape team dynamics.

Participants will engage in interactive simulations, peer discussions, and real-world case studies to develop practical strategies for inclusive leadership. With an approach focused on decentered leadership, participants will learn to empower their teams by redistributing decision-making, amplifying individual strengths, and fostering a more compassionate workplace.

Working closely with Ivey Business School faculty and peers, you will leave the program with the tools to reduce barriers, improve collaboration, and drive performance, enabling your teams to thrive at work.

The program fee includes program materials, breakfast, and lunch; participants are responsible for accommodations and meals outside of program hours. Program fees are tax-exempt.

Organizations and participants in Canada may benefit from the Canada Job Grant or the Canada Training Credit to offset a portion of program fees. Visit our Funding Resources page to learn more.

How should I prepare before attending the program? plus small icon minus small icon

Our program managers will contact all registered participants prior to the program start date with instructions to join our online Learning Management System. Once logged in, you will be able to create a class profile, view other participants' profiles, and access a list of assigned pre-reading, cases, and activities. Plan to review and complete preparation work in advance of each class session.

At Ivey, we embrace learning as an interactive experience. Rather than lecturing, your faculty facilitators will guide the group through hands-on activities, discussions, cases, simulations, and more.
