Dive into learning with Ivey
Learning as an executive can be a new and different experience — our participants all start on the same page. Read through the following questions to get acquainted with Ivey and know what to expect before, during, and after your program.
At Ivey, we embrace learning as an interactive experience. Rather than lecturing, your faculty facilitators will guide the group through hands-on activities, discussions, cases, simulations, and more. To get the most value from your learning experience, you should expect to be present and engaged in class sessions. To learn more, click here to visit our Learning Experience page.
We strive to make our learning experiences accessible for all. Please get in touch with your Program Manager, or our Learning Advisors, at any time before or during your program with questions or information about your accommodations needs. We are happy to work with you to provide individualized accommodations that enable your best learning experience.
Online programs are delivered through a blend of live interactive virtual sessions with Ivey faculty facilitators and self-paced learning modules. Each module guides you through videos, cases, and exercises that help you prepare for and reflect on your learning. You’ll then participate in a live online class to discuss and apply your new knowledge with peers and faculty. All components of virtual programs are required for participants.
Our Program Managers will contact all registered participants before the program start date with instructions to join our online Learning Management System. Once logged in, you can create a class profile, view other participants’ profiles, and access a list of assigned pre-readings, cases, and activities. Plan to review and complete preparation work in advance of each class session.
You can earn a unique Leader Certificate from Ivey by choosing a personalized selection of specific program and workshop offerings. Click here to learn more about Ivey Leader Certificates.
Program attendance requires your full focus and commitment during class sessions. Regular breaks are provided for meals and refreshments, though we encourage you to dedicate time away from work to immerse yourself within your program.
To maximize the group learning experience, all participants must attend all program sessions and activities, including group work, virtual classes, and coaching sessions. Participants should arrange with their teams and leaders to block time away from work. Scheduled social events are also highly recommended!
Most of our program materials are delivered in paperless digital format. We recommend bringing a laptop or tablet to class sessions.
All participants are expected to attend and participate in virtual sessions during scheduled times. These sessions are live and highly interactive, requiring your full attention. We also recommend that you plan to turn your web camera on as much as possible during virtual sessions.

In most cases, program applications must be received no later than 14 days before the start of a program. This ensures time for our team to provide all necessary support and materials to participants in advance and allows participants sufficient time to complete pre-reading and preparatory work.
Organizations and participants in Canada may benefit from the Canada Job Grant or the Canada Training Credit to offset a portion of program fees. Visit our Funding Resources page to learn more.
The program fee covers program materials, meals, and hotel accommodations for sessions at Ivey Spencer Leadership Centre or Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. Program fees are tax-exempt.
