Cara Maurer earned her HBA, MBA, and PhD in Strategy/ General Management from Western University. Cara has worked in telecom sales, strategy consulting, and an entrepreneurial venture before joining the Ivey faculty in 2009.
In addition to custom programs at the Ivey Academy, Cara teaches strategy and organizational change in Ivey’s HBA, accelerated MBA (AMBA), and MSc programs. Her research has been published in journals such as the Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Organization Studies, Human Resource Management, and Management Learning. She has written cases on organizations such as London Health Sciences Center, Whole Foods Inc., Tesla, L’Oreal S.A., and TD Bank Financial Group. She has co-authored textbooks, including The Oxford Handbook of Organizational Change and Innovation. She has previously won the David G. Burgoyne HBA teaching award for outstanding commitment to student development.
Originally raised near Munich Germany, Cara has made Canada her permanent home since 1991.
