Sharon Imhansoloeva

My journey in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) is rooted in personal experience and has evolved into a passionate professional pursuit. Growing up in Nigeria, I witnessed and experienced the pervasive challenges of gender bias firsthand. These early encounters with inequality ignited a fire within me, fueling a lifelong commitment to advocating for equity and inclusion in all spheres of life.

In 2021, I embarked on a new chapter by relocating to Canada. This transition offered me a fresh lens through which to view diversity, broadening my perspective and deepening my understanding of EDI's multifaceted nature in a global context. The multicultural landscape of Canada has enriched my approach to inclusivity, allowing me to appreciate the intersectionality of various aspects of diversity.

Throughout my career and personal journey, I have consistently sought opportunities to advocate for underrepresented groups and promote inclusive practices. My experiences in Nigeria and now in Canada have shaped my holistic approach to EDI, enabling me to address challenges and create positive change in diverse environments.

Prior to joining Ivey Business School, I worked with PwC as a consultant where I also participated in extracurricular activities related to EDI causes. This experience further solidified my commitment to promoting inclusive practices in the corporate world and provided me with valuable insights into implementing EDI initiatives in a professional setting.

I remain dedicated to this path, continually striving to empower others to embrace their unique identities and contribute to building richer, more diverse communities for all. My journey from Nigeria to Canada, including my professional experiences, has equipped me with a unique perspective on EDI, which I bring to my current role as VP-EDI, Ivey Business School.
